Edward Jackson is a university professor, management consultant, editor, and author. He serves as President of E. T. Jackson and Associates Ltd, an award-winning management consulting firm with expertise in innovative finance, entrepreneurship, governance, gender equality, and evaluation. In this capacity, he has advised a wide range of development agencies and financial institutions, investment funds, foundations, and universities in 60 countries on all continents. In addition, Dr. Jackson is an Honorary Associate at the Institute of Development Studies, which is based at the University of Sussex, where he is affiliated with the Institute's Business, Markets and the State research cluster. Professor Jackson also serves as Senior Research Fellow at the Carleton Centre for Community 0Innovation, Adjunct Research Professor of Public Policy and Administration, and Adjunct Professor with the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. A former Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Affairs) in Carleton's Faculty of Public Affairs, and retired tenured public-policy professor, he co-founded the Carleton Centre for Community Innovation and the Carleton University-World Bank International Program for Development Evaluation Training. The co-editor of four books and author or co-author of many academic and professional publications, he is a frequent speaker at conferences and is widely cited in the social-sciences literature. He blogs regularly and is a member of a wide range of academic and professional boards and committees. Ted Jackson is an active volunteer, serving as Chair of the Group of 78, a non-profit foreign policy think tank in Ottawa, and has advised the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and Sweef Capital. With his wife, Magda Seydegart, he co-founded the Jackson Family Scholarship in Community Engagement in the Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership program at Carleton University. Originally trained at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, in adult education and community development, he holds Responsible Investment Professional Certification from the Responsible Investment Association of Canada and Academy of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment. Dr. Jackson has earned honours and awards for his leadership and innovation in a range of fields, including responsible investment, community development, development management, program evaluation, education studies, gender equality, graduate teaching, and community-university partnerships.
