Joseph Edward Kunz, GISP has over 20 years of Executive Management, Strategic Planning, Sales and Marketing, Proposal Development and Management, Project and Financial Management, Legislative and Economic Development experience in government, private industry and academia. At a large NY engineering firm he was The Geospatial Department Manager with Personnel and P&L responsibilities and orchestrated a turn-around taking it from a department with heavy losses for three years to a profitable department (+4.2%) in one year Mr. Kunz is the Owner of Geospatial Data Services, a geospatial consulting firm. Mr. Kunz was the Geospatial Subject Matter Expert within ASRC. Included among his job functions were serving as ASRC liaison between federal agencies, system management and design, strategic planning business analysis and development, contract negotiation and contract management, development of and response to requests for proposals, serving as chief technical advisor for proposed geospatial projects, technology transfer and vetting project and delivery requests for applicability, profitability, scheduling, and likelihood of success and management of staff dedicated to supporting various federal civilian and intelligence agencies. He has managed multi-million dollar projects with staff numbering 75 persons. He has completed several on site Marketing (Including proposal production), Mapping Production, GIS and IT Needs Analysis of photogrammetry and GIS firms and assisted his employers and clients in streamlining production methodologies and winning millions of dollars of business with federal agencies. He has also managed development campaigns. He served as a Legislative Assistant in the Washington DC Office of Congressmen Doug Walgren. He has served as Adjunct Professor of GIS at the University of Pittsburgh, at the University of Phoenix teaching business courses on Quality Management and with the University of Harrisburg developing Remote Sensing courses.
