About Edward Linden

I'm a hydrogeologist with a professional and educational background in hydrogeology, GIS, and paleontology. I have a broad range of field, lab, and office experience in these areas. Many years of work in a diverse range of environments across multiple states and continents have provided me with practical and useful knowledge that I enjoy using to solve new and complex problems and to answer difficult questions.I pride myself on my analytical GIS skillset, which I've developed over the last few years through both academic and professional work. The skills that I've developed over these years include vector and raster analysis of data from a multitude of sources, with an emphasis on raster data processing, data management, task automation, and task reproducibility. I enjoy enhancing my GIS workflows with R and Python scripts in an effort to decrease the possibility of user errors and increase the efficiency of my projects. I am actively learning and improving my knowledge of ArcGIS products and R through ESRI training web courses and Coursera.org's Data Science Specialization.My field expertise includes well construction oversight, environmental data collection, water sample collection, field sampling equipment design/construction/implementation, and deployable monitoring equipment maintenance/installation.In addition to my experience working in the field, I also possess strong lab research experience. Working in the low-temperature aqueous geochemistry lab at Florida International University for two years, I analyzed water samples for major ions, alkalinity, and stable isotopes. Although I no longer operate these lab equipment, the concepts and techniques that I developed during my time in the lab at FIU have provided me with valuable insights into aqueous geochemistry that I have utilized numerous times in my professional career.
