About Edward Masters

People call me for help after a family member has been seriously injured in a car crash. They are usually feeling lost and confused about their legal rights. My clients want someone to guide them through the legal process so they can focus on the treatment and rehabilitation of a loved one. I see my job as using my 30 years of litigation experience to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients; through negotiations if possible and by trial if necessary. I deliver strong advocacy on behalf of all of my clients. I received my legal education at the University of Western Ontario, LL.B. 1977 and at the London School of Economics, LL.M. I was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1981 and have practised with the firm of Burke-Robertson LLP ever since. I joined the bar of Nunavut in I have appeared before the District of Nunavut, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Federal Court Trial Division. I lectured at the Bar Admission Course for the Law Society of Upper Canada and volunteered as a guest lecturer in the Trial Advocacy Course at the University of Ottawa Law School for four years. I also taught a course in Civil Procedure at the Law School. My professional affiliations include the Law Society of Upper Canada, The Law Society of Nunavut, the Canadian Bar Association, The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the County of Carleton Law Association. I have delivered presentations to the local and provincial legal communities including the County of Carleton Law Association, The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Ontario Bar Association. I have also been a presenter at a seminar organized by the Legal Education Centre of the Law Society of Upper Canada. My articles have been published in The Lawyers Weekly.
