About Edward Miller

I like computers and technology. I have a very good understanding of computer systems and cybersecurity and enjoy learning how to use different software systems. When I first got out of the oil field I wanted to find a new career in a field in which I had a passion and skill performing. For the last four years, I have been going to college and working in the Information Technology field to make this dream a reality. I have been at Casper College since the fall of 2016 and have finished my first Associates' Degree in Electronics Technology. I learned how computers work, how to troubleshoot and repair problems. I learned how electricity behaves and how to identify problems in an electrical system using scientific theory, and testing equipment. My professors trained me on how to repair electrical components, cables, and small computer systems. The second degree I am seeking is an Associates's Degree in Cybersecurity where I am learning how to identify, isolate, and remove malware, My courses have also taught me how to protect computer systems and catch cyber criminals. I have also learned networking, ethical hacking, cyber law, network defense techniques, and other cybersecurity skills. For the last year and a half, I have been working in the IT industry where I have honed my skills and experience in computer systems and networks. I am a people person and very talkative. I am a natural salesman and enjoy helping find solutions to people's problems. I have a strong background in customer service. When people think of the oilfield, they don't usually think of customer service. Believe when I say its a big part. The Oil and Gas Service industry is a very competitive field and the main way to stay on top is to build strong relationships with customers. We accomplished this by listening to our customers, meeting their needs, and building good relationships with them. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 2002, been blessed with 3 beautiful children and enjoy spending time with them. I am a Christian and believe in helping others and following biblical principles are essential parts of life. I like to play Disc Golf, going fishing, hunting, and camping. I like to travel and see new places but my heart always takes me home to those who matter most. I have fun throwing Barbecues and cooking for my friends and family.
