Edward Scott Jr is Owner and Managing Director of Driving Park, Limited in Ghana, an independent production company that produces documentaries, information films and multi-media content fostering African development, knowledge about the diaspora, and cultural awareness-raising. In a career spanning over 20-years, Mr. Scott has created cutting-edge film projects for multimedia channels including the Silver Telly award winning film,"City of Dreams"(2005), a 52-minute documentary about the legacy of Italian colonial architecture in Eritrea. He has embarked on game changing advocacy video projects in service to three UN peacekeeping field missions in Africa over a nine-and-half-year period. Mr. Scott has taught film and video production to students of the industry at institutions of higher learning in the USA and in Africa. As a freelance producer, Mr. Scott has developed and produced news features aired on international media networks such as CNN International, and he has served as cameraman and/or editor on productions for the National Geographic Channel, United Nations TV, Comcast Sports, and on numerous sponsored and independent productions. In addition to the award-wining film,"City of Dreams"(2005), Mr. Scott’s other personal filmmaking accomplishments include "Journey Along the Slave Route," a promo for an in-progress feature documentary about the legacy of the former slave trade in Ghana, and more recently,"Dog Tales"(2016), an ironic 'dogumentary' about the harsh reality of canine survival in a post-war African nation. Mr. Scott holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Time Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Illinois. He earned a Master of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from Hollins College in Virginia. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema from Denison University in Ohio.
