Key career highlights- Selected by Dr. Gordon Moore, co-founder of Intel, to serve as his private foundation's CTO/CIO. Designed and maintained the IT dial tone for a $5B+ organization and led the technology innovation team supporting the foundation's strategic programs- Recipient of highly prized Rolex watch awarded by Microsoft's executive committee (Gates, Ballmer and Raikes) in recognition of strategic enterprise IT solutions. Recognized as Architectural Engineer of the Year- Successfully designed, built, and deployed numerous complex mission-critical solutions to help transform large global organizations- Instrumental in establishing the Public Library of Science (PLOS) with the goal of disrupting the business model of the $20B+ scientific and medical journal publishing industry. Worked with the PLOS Founders (Drs. Varmus, Brown, and Eisen) on the business plan and funding required to advance Open Access (OA) publishing. Managed the engineering effort to launch PLOS ONE.
