Recognized speaker on a variety of topics including ALTA Best Practices Compliance, Cyber and Email Security Procedures in Small to Mid-sized Firms, Title and Settlement Agency Procedures, Practices and Controls, TRID and RESPA compliance, Escrow Fraud Prevention and Detection, et al. Authored the Best Practices Policies and Procedures Manual for Small to Mid-Sized Title and Settlement Agencies (revised 2019). Formed Generes & Associates, Inc. in 1993 under contract to Landtech Data Corporation and has since grown our representation to over 30 states in the mid-Atlantic, Gulf south, Midwest and western regions of the US. Generes & Associates currently offers the Landtech title, settlement and escrow software (both installed and web-based); escrow accounting services, file scanning, 1099-S Reporting Services, ALTA Best Practices consulting and general consulting services to the industry. In 2015 and as a result of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s TILA/RESPA (TRID) Rule, sponsored, developed and conducted a nationwide series of live seminars and webinars on the implementation of the TRID rule as well as procedural problems and solutions regarding the TRID rule. In 2009, designed and conducted a nationwide program of live seminars and webinars dealing with RESPA Reform and its implications for real estate title and escrow professionals. In the past 26 years, I have trained hundreds of attorneys and other title, closing and escrow professionals in all phases of the real estate and loan title and closing processes.
