As an independent utility industry professional with over 25 years of diverse experience, I bring extensive expertise in substation automation, software development, cyber security and leadership. I have developed a comprehensive skill set that is highly valuable in the utility industry. Throughout my career, I have held significant roles such as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Consultant and Product Owner supporting customers with IEC 61850 substation automation, distribution automation, smart grid development, and project management. I possess technical, managerial, and commercial skills honed through 14 years of designing and developing test software for the utility industry, and have substantial hands-on testing experience with leading certification companies. My expertise extends to international standardization, having served as a Task Force leader in the IEC TC57 WG10 and as a member of the UCA® International Users Group Testing Subcommittee. I am also a recognized cyber security and communication protocol specialist, with a strong grasp of protocols including IEC 61850, IEC61869, MMS (ISO 9506). I also possess expertise in KNX Home and Building Automation, with several years of experience as both an accredited KNX Certification Engineer and KNX Tutor. My work involved knowledge of KNX standards and protocols, and the development of KNX testing tools and support tools. In addition to my technical skills, I have experience in business development and have managed teams for software development, quality assurance, and technical support. I have spent many years as an international tutor, working with major manufacturers of secondary substation equipment, utilities, and research institutes globally. I am available for contract work and can operate both from the Netherlands and internationally, providing services remotely as required.
