About Edwin Ramones

For eight years I was a Benefits Administrator in Human Resources at Boston University holding the most senior position from November of 2009 until this past April 2014. As of May 2014, I transferred into Boston University’s HR Business Analyst position. During my tenure as Benefits Administrator (I and IV), I gained experience in many facets of benefits administration such as plan design, implementation, and day to day operations of the University’s health, Rx, dental, FSA, and retirement plans. As a Benefit Administrator I gained both an understanding of the University’s benefits offerings as well as the University’s HRIS, SAP. I believe it is important to understand howthe plans and system work together since both have an impact on an employee’s experience. My experiences as a Benefits Administrator laid an excellent foundation for my current position as a Business Analyst. As HR’s Business Analyst I depend on my knowledge of the University’s policies and HRIS to provide guidance to numerous University parties on how their personnel and organization management actions impact our system and individual employee records. Throughout my career I have consistently taken on more responsibilities while continuing to provide exemplary service to employees and other departments. As a Benefits Administrator I provided guidance to assistants, fellow administrators, and management when they looked for advice on day to day plan issues or more complicated issues that arose due to system errors or when employees had troubles with plans or plan vendors. In my Business Analyst position I continue to provide guidance to administrators and management on HRIS and business or employee policy issues. These two positions have instilled a strong knowledge of the operation of benefits, system, business and personnel processes.
