About Edwin Shi

Edwin is responsible for origination, structuring and execution of fixed income and alternative investments in real estate sector. He is in charge of originating senior secured debt from credit inquiry to financial close and performing loan monitoring & management. The range of loans includes construction loan, land banking, bridge loan & equity loan in the forms of first mortgage & mezzanine debts. He also establishes and manages funding schedules to match new money-in & repayment with pipelines of transactions. The total transaction amount Edwin has involved and arranged is more than $200 million Australian Dollars. He has successfully established high efficiency style & assisted a high number of developers in their funding arrangement. On the alternative investment side, property portfolio is growing fast and the net assets value under management aims to exceed $200 million AUD in 2 years. He involved in site acquisition, negotiation, strategic planning, property developments and assets management. On the fundraising side, Edwin works with trustees and solicitors to arrange investment structure including establishment of unit investment trust/managed investment scheme (especially contributory mortgage scheme/convertible notes), arrangement of relevant legal & compliance documents (IM, trust deed, etc.), interest distribution and investors regular disclosure. On the risk side, Edwin leads a team of 5 analysts conducting risk analysis, research, due diligence procedures, reporting to Directors & Investment Committee about mortgage lending and alternative investment opportunities. He also participates in making investment decisions.
