About Ehsan Farno

I’m a Chartered Chemical Engineer (CPEng, NER) with a PhD in Chemical Engineering and over a decade of experience across water quality, treatment processes, and applied research. Currently at South East Water, I manage water quality risks, lead HACCP implementation, and contribute to strategic disinfection planning and treatment plant operations. My career spans both industry and academia, including research fellow work at RMIT University on wastewater treatment and process modeling (CFD, energy/mass balance). I’ve delivered pilot testing, supported technology commercialisation, and collaborated with regulators and consultants on projects that improve public health outcomes. Experienced in the rheological characterisation of slurries, sewage sludge, tailings etc. Practical experience in the design of sewage sludge transportation and pumping systems extendable to non-Newtonian dispersion including tailings, mineral slurries, pastes drilling oil, etc.
