About Ehsan Mahyari
Passionate and dedicated, I am a Ph.D. candidate in Operations Management at the University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Business, immersed in research on Electric Vehicle Fleet (EVF) charging management. Throughout my academic journey, I have tackled complex Sequential Decision-Making Problems in this field, with a specific focus on the interplay between Operations Research techniques and Machine Learning. My research interests lie in Online Optimization reinforced with predictive modeling, Approximate Dynamic Programming (ADP), and Optimal Stopping strategies. By integrating these cutting-edge techniques, I aim to optimize multi-stage stochastic optimization EVF charging management problems and develop robust decision-making frameworks. I have had the privilege of working on EVF charging management with AMPLY Power (bp pulse), a California-based Charging-as-a-Service company. This invaluable experience has allowed me to contribute to the sustainable transportation revolution. By addressing critical challenges in charging infrastructure, such as demand forecasting, energy allocation, and the heterogeneity of charging equipment and vehicles, my research has the potential to significantly enhance the efficiency and scalability of EVFs and the sustainable electricity grid network, thereby promoting the widespread adoption of clean energy solutions. My academic journey has not only equipped me with advanced analytical skills but also fostered my ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams. Through extensive data analysis, algorithm development, and model validation, I have honed my expertise in solving intricate optimization problems using state-of-the-art techniques. Moreover, my involvement in diverse research projects and collaborations has sharpened my communication and leadership skills, enabling me to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and precision. I am thrilled to leverage my expertise and make a meaningful contribution to the transformation of the transportation industry by facilitating the seamless integration of electric vehicles into our daily lives. I actively seek opportunities to collaborate with industry partners, research institutions, and academia to drive impactful research and innovation in the field of EVF charging management.
