About Eibert Draisma

I am a Dutch designer, inventor and artist, born in Zambia. I graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven in 1991 and started my own company in 1992. Design & art projects I get my happiness and income from developing my own products, inventions, and art projects. In addition, I am hired for product innovation, brainstorming, workshops, exhibitions or lectures. My clientele includes companies like Philips, Heineken, Booking.com, Auping, ABNAmro, Schiphol Airport and Shell. Museums or institutions I work with are e.g. Centraal Museum Utrecht, World Trade Center Tokyo, National Glass Museum, Museum Boerhaave, Kunsthal Rotterdam, Rijksmuseum Twenthe, De Museumfabriek, Snug Harbor Cultural Center New York, AMS Light Festival and Droog Design. Workshops I provide unforgettable lectures and workshops for every target group and group size. Usually for companies (engineers, managers, scientists, lawyers, philosophers, doctors, historians, etc.) but sometimes, if my schedule allows, as a birthday event for a child who wants to be an inventor. And everyone always goes home happy, including me. Some workshops are quite large: e.g. for a few thousand employees of Booking.com (two days in RAI Amsterdam). On request, I am happy to develop tailor-made workshop items in advance. Specialties Innovation, product design, art (direction), new materials & manufacturing techniques, electronics, prototyping, workshops, brainstorming, teaching, writing and last but not least: motivating and inspiring others. Science, technology and design - as theatre, funfair, natural wonders or as a learning school” Besides this, I: • am a design tutor at Design Academy Eindhoven (1992 – present); • designed more than 150 DIY products for Praxis (Dutch chain of DIY stores); • worked for >10 years as a designer/inventor for product development company ‘Invention!’; • invented several products (and I own several patents in different countries); • am a member of Speakers’ Academy, institute for professional Usually I go to bed at 11:00 PM, get up at 6:00 AM and right now my favourite animal is a frog
