Background

About Eileen Hagerman

After having worked in the world of corporate insurance for several years, I took a break to pursue the field of animal care, starting by volunteering at a non-profit wildlife hospital, and shortly thereafter pursuing an Associates Degree in Applied Science as a Veterinary Technician. After working as Clinic Supervisor and subsequently, Executive Director at Volunteers for Wildlife for ten years, I branched out to the field of veterinary medicine as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, where I worked for 12 years. I recently returned to the newly renamed Wildlife Center of Long Island (formerly volunteers for Wildlife) in an administrative capacity, supporting the Board of Directors and hospital Directors. I also hold a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Veterinary Technology Management from SUNY College of Technology—Delhi as well as my Master's in Human Resources through SUNY Stony Brook. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, movies and volunteering and continue to be a lifelong learner by attending conferences and webinars. I share my home with my husband, three cats, a turtle, and a saltwater fish.
