Skilled registered nurse with over 30 years experience that includes all phases of Community and Public Health Nursing. Effective leader with the ability to direct multiple areas of responsibility that include an integrated multidisciplinary team that prepares for disasters, the immunization program, oral health, and the asthma coalition for the Nassau County Department of Health. Received national recognition for the developing the Nassau County Medical Reserve Corp. Honored by the New York State Office of the Assembly in August of 2006 and the Town of Oyster Bay in April of 2007 for the work done on community public health preparedness. Presented at numerous conferences on the ground breaking work in Public Health Emergency Preparedness; the most recent being the Public Health Preparedness Summit 2008, the Long Island Emergency Management Conference 2007, New York State Association of County Health Officials 2007, UCLA’s Disaster Preparedness Conference 2007, and the American Public Health Association Conference 2006 and 2007. Shares expertise on community public health by participating on Institute of Medicine and New York State Committees devoted to public health preparedness and volunteer management. Nursing Instructor at Brunswick Community College, teaching in Workforce development and continuing Education.
