About Eimear Ferguson

As a Science Communication and Engagement Officer at Teagasc, I have many years of experience in developing and delivering effective education and public engagement (EPE) strategies for various research projects and initiatives. I work with researchers, staff, and students to disseminate their work to diverse audiences, using a range of channels and formats, such as events, workshops, podcasts, videos, and social media. My mission is to increase the awareness, understanding, and appreciation of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) among the public, and to inspire the next generation of STEM learners and professionals. I have a strong background in physiology, creativity, innovation, and leadership, as well as certifications in animal husbandry and speech and drama. I am passionate about communicating complex scientific concepts in a clear, engaging, and accessible way, and fostering dialogue and collaboration between researchers and stakeholders.
