Background
About Eimer Duffy
I’m passionate about helping people gain confidence through learning in the classroom, workplace or community. My work brings together adult and community education, digital communication and inclusion to support individuals in developing practical skills for life and work. I design and deliver accessible digital skills and social media training for adults of all ages and abilities, as well as for small businesses and community organisations. My approach is practical and person-centred, helping participants build confidence rather than feel overwhelmed. Every session focuses on real-world application, from setting up a Google Business Profile or managing social channels to using online tools that save time and strengthen communication. Learning should always feel clear, enjoyable and achievable. Alongside my freelance work, I collaborate with organisations such as CyberSafeKids, promoting online safety and digital wellbeing for children, parents and teachers. This experience deepens my understanding of safeguarding and digital resilience, enabling me to support learners of all ages and abilities to engage safely and confidently online. Over the years, I’ve worked across education, marketing, programme design and publishing — roles that have strengthened my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. As an editor and writer, I’ve learned how to communicate complex ideas clearly and with empathy, skills that directly enhance my teaching and mentoring practice. I’ve also delivered keynote sessions at national and professional events, including the National Funeral Exhibition (NFE 2022 and 2024), ICCM Learning Conferences (2024 and 2025), British Institute of Funeral Directors Conference (BIFD 2023), Association of Independent Celebrants (AOIC 2024) and Funeral Times Trade Show Ireland 2023, sharing insights on digital confidence and communication. My early career with St John of God Community Services, supporting adults with mild intellectual disabilities, remains one of the most meaningful experiences of my professional life. It shaped my ongoing commitment to inclusion, person-centred learning and helping individuals reach their potential in ways that feel authentic and empowering. I’m dedicated to lifelong learning myself, continually updating my knowledge in digital tools, education methods and inclusive practice. Grounded in empathy, clarity and practical outcomes, my goal is simple; to help people feel empowered, connected and confident in their learning journey.
