Mechanic is the person everyone goes to if they have any problems -) I’m a licensed mariner, holding the STCW first engineer unlimited certificate. I have 9 years’ experience in operation and maintenance from vessels and offshore drilling rigs, including: • Technical management of machinery, auxiliary systems and equipment • Team management, assignment of duties and guidance • Engine room watchkeeping • Planning and coordination of maintenance and repairs • Safety and environmental compliance for machinery and equipment per regulations • Documentation and record-keeping for maintenance and machinery performance In my current position as a rig mechanic, I’m responsible for performing routine maintenance on various mechanical equipment and systems on the rig, such as engines, pumps, compressors, generators, cranes and drilling equipment. I am self-going and independent, I’m introvert and prefer quality over quantity. A normal day for me include: • Troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical systems and equipment • Preventive maintenance to minimize the risk of equipment failures and ensure optimal performance • Emergency response, assist in emergency shutdowns, repairs during critical situations, participate in emergency drills and procedures • Safety and compliance; adhere to safety protocols, industry standards, company policies and regulations to maintain a safe working environment As a person I’m calm and serene like a tranquil blue ocean, which comes in handy as I play a crucial role in emergency response. Safety is of the utmost importance to me, I am a certified safety delegate and have training as a firefighter from the Royal Norwegian Navy, as well as medical service and damage control.
