About Eiris Yap

I am very interested in learning new languages and I would like to continue my studies with the Japanese language and be proficient in it in order to communicate efficiently with locals and expand my multi-lingual skills. Other languages I would like to develop on and continue is French and Manadarin Chinese. I have both a passion for food and travel having worked in the hospitality industry for the past 7 years working in renowned and well-established restaurants including QT Sydney and O Bar and Dining under the mentoring guidance of my head chefs and fellow peers. I have recently changed careers into the travel and tourism industry as a travel consultant with Flight Centre, looking for new opportunities and challenges to expand my knowledge and experience to become a more efficient employee. Working in these two prominent industries, it has allowed me to develop the following skills- time management skills and being organised - completing tasks within the allocated time frame - guiding the apprentice chefs working under my supervision and ensuring they follow the correct and safe procedures of food preparation and hygiene - worked on booking flights on our Travel Reservations System (TRS) Sabre Red Workspace (SRW) and manually building the best airfare itinerary for our customers - worked alongside our supplied wholesalers (Infinity Holidays) to create tailor-made itineraries with the best value to our customers - gaining valuable product knowledge from a wide range of our preferred suppliers (EG: TTC, CLIA, Intrepid, Globus, Bunnik, etc)
