About Eisse Wijma

I am an experienced all-round water resources management specialist with affinity in flood risk management and river engineering. I gained more than 17 years' experience as a river engineering consultant as well as a World Bank sector specialist responsible for implementation supervision of large complex World Bank projects. I am committed to support clients in finding sustainable and cost effective solutions for water related challenges helping communities in becoming resilient against adverse consequences of Climate Change. I have strong communication skills, making me a good team player. I believe in an inclusive approach, with room for everyone to contribute through passion & intrinsic motivation, technical know-how and the drive to make the world a little better.As World Bank Consultant I am supporting the preparation of the Assam Integrated River Basin Management Project (AIRBMP) in India, a US$ 500 mln program supporting the Government of Assam in reducing floods and river erosion risk in the Assam part of the Brahmaputra Rover. Under the same acronym (AIRBM) I worked since 2017 as co-Task Team Leader of the Ayeyarwady Integrated River Basin Management Project in Myanmar. The project has closed in 2022. In Lao PDR and Cambodia I lead a Technical Assistance (TA) program on Urban Flood Resilience, supporting governments in setting up an Integrated Planning Approach with broad stakeholder engagement to arrive at an investment program on Urban Flood Resilience. The TA program is linked to the South-East Asia Disaster Risk Management Projects in Lao, Myanmar and Cambodia. In 2021 I founded Studio Flow | River & Water Management Consultancy with the ambition to offer strategic solutions to complex water management challenges globally. Studio Flow is a Dutch engineering firm active in the space of flood risk management, river engineering and water system planning and management. Studio Flow collaborates with renowned international Engineering Firms and other partners to maximize the skillsets to deliver water management solutions to our clients.
