About Eithne Hogan

I have an enthusiasm and passion for education. With 28 years' experience, I have accomplished a wide diversity of roles. I am currently the coordinator for the Datacenter Academy Program supported by Microsoft. There is a fully functional 3 rack mini scale data center in the college for implementation of datacenter technologies. I have established and currently manage the Cisco Network Academy, with certificates of recognition in Instructor Excellence and over 10 years of active service and participation. I established our CompTIA Academy now running 23+ years. I have also written and developed curriculum that is nationally recognised and delivered. I was a Specialist Matter Expert (SME) in IT for FETAC and moderated Locally Devised Modules over a 2 year period. Aside from IT, Modules included English, Drama and Local History. During this period, I liased with Microsoft and AOL in a consultancy capacity representing the education sector to combine the knowledge levels and perspectives of both sectors. Other past held formal posts in the college were PR, ECDL and LCVP Coordinator. During this time, I represented the school in order to build relations with community organisations and local businesses to positively promote the school and enhance teaching and learning. I coordinated and ran a 4 week summer school for a group of 6th class students to include learners with special educational needs. As acting Director of Adult Education, I coordinated the school's night classes. Coordinating these classes nvolved enrolling students, organising tutors and carrying out the administrative duties entailed in logging and recording attendance. I managed the financial records and was entrusted with receiving and banking all monies. I am presently leadng the day to day of the school's network as ICT Coordinator. Alongside my teaching duties, I train, support and mentor the IT team and interns in an always-evolving digital landscape. I am a DDLETB Digital Lead for our college and alongside colleagues drive the transformation to the digital landscape in teaching and learning practices. Managing change is our goal and our focus.
