PhD in geology, currently work with energy storage technology in Ruden AS and a 20% position as Senior Researcher at NORCE, Bergen Norway. My main goal as a structural geologist is to better understand the relationship between fluid flow in fractured rocks and how this knowledge can be used to speed up the green energy shift. My main work task is currently to develop new technology to solve the challenge of seasonal storage of heat energy. Design low cost and flexible underground systems for storage and energy extraction in any geological environment. Systems that can be utilized by a range of industries and buildings and that save enormous amounts of energy, without using any rare elements and without any surface impact. Developing low enthalpy geothermal energy system utilizing ground water directly in heat pump systems Research within basement reservoirs, together with Lundin Energy (now AkerBP) I have developed field laboratories for testing fluid flow in fractured and weathered granite rocks. This is not only valuable knowledge for oil and gas industries, but gives valuable insights of the hydrogeological conditions in crystalline rocks and geothermal systems. Through a 10 year career as a senior researcher I have worked substantially with basic research within structural geology for geothermal reservoirs and hydrocarbon systems. I have worked as a lecturer in university of Bergen within several courses in structural geology, petroleum technology and basic geology. Supervision of more 20 MsC/PhD student and author/coauthor og 20+ peer review papers. The recent years I have also been strongly involved into plastic pollution, particular focusing on mapping and understanding the impact plastic pollution have on ecosystems and how plastic is incorporated into soil and eventually in the geological record.
