About Elaina Darrington

I’m driven by the belief that systems change starts with relationships the trust we build, the conversations we sustain, and the shared commitment to making our communities work the way young people deserve them to. As Youth Community Coordinator, I hold a unique role as lived expert peer directly alongside the Pierce County Youth Action Board, a group of young people with lived experience who are leading efforts to improve the response system to youth homelessness - and more! My work sits at the intersection of youth engagement, systems change, and accountability. Over time, my role as the YAB Coordinator has grown to include convening partners and pushing for improvement in how systems show up for young people with an emphasis on transparency, and listening to those most impacted. I’m passionate about building honest, modern, accessible spaces where young people are treated with the dignity they deserve. Not just served, or heard, included as decision-makers and co-conspirators.
