About Elaina Smith

My experience as a CPA in financial accounting brought me to my favorite work environment to date, payments. I'm CFO for Secure Bancard, a wholesale ISO and integrated settlement platform based in Alpharetta, GA. I brought my financial accounting background to the payments industry around 12 years ago when my husband, Kevin, and I started Secure Bancard. Payments is now officially my passion as I help ISOs, ISVs, and veteran agents run their businesses more efficiently and profitably via Secure Bancard’s fintech platform, Pioneer. Our clients call us their “secret sauce” for their growth. Our proprietary platform, Pioneer, makes it easy to onboard merchants quickly, deliver excellent service, and customize the merchant services experience. We are privately owned and intend to stay that way so that we can stay true to our vision and prioritize the clients we serve with integrity. When I’m not working in our business directly, I am trying to do my small part to change the culture in payments for the better. I believe payments should be about getting it right, every time. It should be about relationships, helping to educate and mentor. It should be about personal growth. It should be fun and creative. It should be about celebrating healthy competition because it makes us strive to be better. Currently, I’m doing this by sharing knowledge on LinkedIn, writing articles, working on my passion project, The People Behind Payments where I feature personal founder stories, recording episodes of our podcast, Payments Ground Game, and speaking on panels when given the opportunity.
