About Elaine Smith

As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a teacher. What once started as a little girl's role play developed into a lifelong passion of facilitating new learning and engaging experiences for my students - no matter the age. I have spent the past 8 years working with staff throughout our district on how to best engage ALL students in profound learning experiences. Capitalizing on 24 successful years teaching grades K-5 I now enjoy coaching teachers and leaders to think outside of the box in how they can best facilitate engagement within their classrooms and entire buildings. Part of my passion also lies in telling the amazing stories of learning and growth happening inside each and every classroom in our district out to the world beyond. Through the use of social media I can paint vivid pictures of the steps in each student's journey towards graduation and beyond. Design thinking leads all I do. Whether it be brainstorming the most dynamic ways to hold meetings, trainings, and team building opportunities - or coaching teachers through the design of new learning experiences for their students - I have found that design leads to engagement and possibilities once not thought. I'm available to consult, coach, and help you design your next experiences in your classrooms, districts, and other interested workplaces. I also enjoy providing inspirational/motivational speeches for groups as a kickoff to events or to provide a much needed and deserved boost.
