About Elandre Dedrick

As an anthropologist and a senior design researcher at Ford, I combine my academic training and industry experience to create compelling product features, new services, and delightful customer experiences that respond to the needs of diverse and marginalized communities. I lead cross-functional teams in developing research-driven consumer insights, using various research methods and moderating techniques, and teach non-researchers design thinking and human-centered research principles. Before joining Ford, I worked as a program officer at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, where I managed thought leadership, research, and events on transatlantic inclusive leadership and tech for inclusion. I also conducted long-term ethnographic research in New York City, Dakar, and Marseille, examining how local urban policy shapes the lived experiences of poor and working class citizens. I hold a PhD and an MA in cultural anthropology from Stanford University, and a BA in sociology and anthropology from The New School.
