About Elbert Toha

During my years helping a family bank, I saw firsthand how financial help changes lives but also how many are left out due to low risk appetite. There had to be a better way for financial inclusion, I thought. Beyond banking, my passion for software engineering led to my first startup: ADX Asia, a profitable media and operation tech company. ADX Asia aggregates billboards across Indonesia, helping advertisers plan campaigns and track on-ground activations. However, with ADX Asia, it was my turn being left out by banks. We relied on working capital loans to pay vendors and workers upfront, while clients typically paid 3-6 months later. Options were limited: banks required collateral we didn’t have, and P2P loans had high interest rates and lengthy approval times. There needed to be a better solution for financial inclusion to empower locals and emerging businesses. And this motivated me to start Jagad. Jagad leverages blockchain to create a borderless financial ecosystem for emerging markets, enabling currency and asset tokenization. Think Robinhood for local economies, allowing you to pay, invest, lend, and borrow locally through a RWA-tokenized blockchain ecosystem.
