About Eleanor Terrelonge

A proud Jamaican scientist and researcher who is passionate about national development, the advancement of science and innovation in Jamaica. I have experience with coordinating and managing social and environmental projects. I can lead activities related to research design, event planning, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation and resource mobilization. I am proficient in both digital and traditional communication, with a specialized competence in science communication. Passionate about advancing scientific research and innovation in Jamaica, I am a dedicated research student exploring new antimicrobial compounds from soil bacteria. I am also an experienced laboratory demonstrator with a zeal for ensuring younger students develop a love for the sciences. Because of my wide range of interests and my passion for development in Jamaica, I have also dedicated a lot of time to voluntary pursuits that engage and educate young persons about important causes including climate change resilience and mental health awareness. These volunteer experiences have helped me learn and refine various skills outside of academic research. In addition to my scientific background, I am also an avid writer, blogger, online researcher and social media coordinator with skills in organization, leadership, project management, event planning and even some graphic design experience. I am highly focused and disciplined, with a strong intrinsic motivation to meet deadlines and complete milestones.
