About Elena Cuoco
I am a Full Professor at the University of Bologna, a position I have held since 2024, and my research focuses on gravitational waves. I worked at the European Gravitational Observatory for many years, where I served as Head of the Data Science Office. From 2018 to early 2024, I was seconded to the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. I was an active member of the Executive Board of the ESCAPE project. I am a member of the LIGO/Virgo/KAGRA collaboration, where I work on data analysis and apply artificial intelligence techniques to detector characterization and the search for astrophysical gravitational wave signals. From 2018 to 2023, I served as Action Chair for the COST Action CA17137, an initiative dedicated to applying machine learning to gravitational wave science. I have authored numerous scientific publications and am actively involved in various European and international initiatives.
