About Elena Lomora

At 19 the examining professor said to me:"I hope you’re considering becoming a teacher!" It was during my high school end exam. I went on to be a first-gen uni student, a teacher job might have been more than my family imagined. But I had different plans: to study politics and European Studies. I met feminism and what I understood to be DE & I in corporate culture. Eventually, after an early-20s life adventure I started working in learning and development. A teacher? Not really, but whenever I think about my work I think of it as a job in education as it is education and lifelong learning that we do through training organisations and corporate universities. I’m now an L&D professional with 7 years of practice over the end to end L&D process. I partner with business leaders to create incredible learning experiences that you, the end user, will enjoy and recommend to others. Because it is your desire to learn, unlearn, re-learn, and simply keep learning that moves organizations forward, creates societal progress, and ultimately better lives. It is my experience that you never really know which exam can change your life for the better. Here’s more about me- I thrive in dynamic, intercultural environments and as a robust learning programme manager my work is focused on leading international project teams in the creation of learning solutions as well as providing learning and development consulting to business leaders - I constantly educate myself: I challenge my knowledge and polish my skills, I follow a diverse pool of thought leaders, I set high goals and work for them - I am an advocate of DE & I: I believe in the transformative power that DE & I education can have on us but also on the transformative power that we can have on each other. Organzitional citizenship actions that make me proud- School: volunteered to be student representative on my master's programme steering committee, tutor for new students and the co-founder of an immigration discussion series meant to challenge perceptions about how we see each other - Corporate learning: created educational materials on talent management which were published on the company’s intranet, managed internal trainers, led the mentoring dimension of a local talent development program, worked on local projects on collaboration culture and leadership - D&I Ambassador: focus on mentoring, led my team in designing a reverse mentoring project proposal I'm right now on parental leave: a unique educational journey.
