About Elena Miteva

Economist with solid academic background (PhD) and over twenty five years of experience in comparative research, policy analysis and project management at the OECD, with wide substantive and geographic areas of focus. Specialisation: corporate governance, insolvency, privatisation, foreign direct investment, anti-corruption, financial education in OECD economies, China, India, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Asia, Eurasia, MENA, SEE Strengths include skills in fostering multilateral policy dialogue, analytical, diplomatic and management competences, as well as ability to translate research into policy recommendations and action plans. Successfully implemented joint projects with multilateral organisations, such as the Asian Development Bank, the European Commission, the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation and the United Nations (UNCITRAL). Advised OECD senior management. Worked, in particular for the OECD Secretary-General Gurria, supporting his agenda in a range of policy areas, including as deputy head of the OECD-wide initiative titled New Approaches to Economic Challenges (NAEC). Raised funds and managed complex and sensitive inter-organisation projects. Former member of the Board of the Joint Vienna Institute of International Institutions. French and Bulgarian national, fluent in English and Russian. Occasional lecturer at INALCO and ENA.
