I am an MA student and research assistant at Concordia University interested in exploring sociolegal questions of property rights and political questions of community and advocacy within major institutions. Currently, I am looking into the issue of ebooks in public libraries across Canada and the United States, the legal questions of copyright, contract law and licensing that surround digital media and materials, and the librarians and library groups advocating for change I am also conducting research with the Data Justice Hub on activist internet archivists. Specifically, I am researching how activists engage in digital material preservation and navigate ethical questions around data ownership, accountability, and consent within digital archiving.
