About Eli Brown

I am a bilingual IT Manager with over 20 years experience in the areas of IT Management and Project Management. My professional focus covers IT infrastructure, software development, information management, medical imaging and digital archiving. Most recently, I worked for over 12 years at Ubisoft Entertainment in their extensive IT support department, developing a strong understanding of the IT technologies required to maintain a global network used by tens of thousands of users. I have a thorough understanding of IT hardware, including server and OS management, networking, virtualization technologies, storage and backups, as well as the ability to communicate with the technical experts responsible for managing them, in English or French. Over the course of my career, I have primarily been an IT Project Manager, solidified with his PMP certification in 2010. This role, above all else, fostered flexibility in terms of work expectations, and I adapt well to new needs and changing requirements. It also enhanced my ability to deconstruct complex problems into simpler tasks, and sharpened the coordination and documentation skills required to keep track of all the moving parts. One of the most challenging, but also most rewarding chapters in my career was as manager of the Account Management and the Business Services teams at Ubisoft. Both of these roles had teams of 6-8 direct reports, and led to strong team management skills. A core component of this experience was trust – and the importance of trusting my team to execute my vision. This experience also strengthened my record-keeping and documentation skills, as a necessary method of synthesizing business value from complex technical discussions. In terms of personality, I am strongly empathetic. I make the effort to put myself in the shoes of the people I interact with, and I act as a champion for them and their needs. I'm outgoing and often take the lead on calls, compiling the agendas and driving the discussion to identify solutions. I am known for my competence, professionalism and easy-going manner. I earn respect from technical subject matter experts by demonstrating a real understanding of their technologies and the challenges they face, and from business partners through my ability to translate complex IT jargon into accessible business language.
