About Eli Paddle

While studying fine arts at the University of Western Ontario, I discovered and fell in love with digital imaging; initially in Adobe Photoshop. Little did I know, this would be an ongoing theme as moved through my career. In 2002, I embarked upon further education in Landscape Architecture at the University of Guelph. While pursuing my MLA, I continued to further develop expertise in digital imaging, which eventually led me into the world of 3D design visualization and computer animation in my thesis research In 2005 I found my calling when I began teaching design illustration and presentation in the Landscape Design program at Fanshawe college on a part-time basis. In 2009, I was appointed as full time Professor in the Integrated Land Planning Technologies applied degree program at Fanshawe which has afforded an opportunity for even deeper exploration of design visualization as a key component in the overall design process from conceptual development to final presentation with my degree students. After presenting a seminar on SketchUp at Landscape Ontario’s Designers Conference in 2009, I began providing software training seminars to groups and individuals throughout the province. In 2010 I began teaching SketchUp courses at Landscape Ontario as part of their professional development program. Currently I continue to learn, research, teach and consult. I am always open to new partnerships, teaching and consulting opportunities should they present themselves. Specialties: Design visualization and illustration consultation, software training and consultation (SketchUp, Twilight Render, Vue Infinite, Photoshop, InDesign), landscape design consultation.
