Background
About Elijah Conom
Hi my name is Elijah Conom and I am a junior at the University of Oklahoma on track to graduate with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting on the Pre-Law track in the spring 2025, and a Masters of Science in Finance in the Spring of 2026. I have chosen degree studies because I know how much of an impact the business industry plays on the world as a whole, and I am passionate about rising in the industry to make a positive difference. By majoring in accounting I am able to gain a deeper understanding of the backbone of how businesses function. Adding finance to this allows me to take these concepts and learn how to make decisions based on that information and really make a lasting impact. In my time here at OU I have been able to challenge myself academically by completing my first year of hours in high school. This has allowed me to separate myself from peers and get into high level courses that are relevant to the field I am hoping to pursue. In addition to this I am involved in a number of organizations on campus. Not only that but within these organizations I have always strived to be in a leadership role. Currently I am the Internal Vice President within the Pi Kappa Alpha - Beta Omicron chapter. I am also a recently selected Candidate Associate for the JCPenney Leadership Program. Through these opportunities I have had the opportunity to make an impact on the community around me as well as further develop myself professionally and as a leader. Last summer I completed an internship with Origin Bank as a Commercial Lending Intern. In this role I gained valuable knowledge about the finance industry and banks play a major role in that. More specifically I gained valuable skills of financial analysis and further developed my interpersonal skills in a professional environment. My top five CliftonStrengths are 1. Futuristic 2. Communication 3. Competition 4. Learner 5. Restorative
