About Elin Larsson

I am a chemical engineer with specialization in materials science and have a PhD in Engineering Physics (materials science and tribology) from Uppsala University. I am passioned about technology related to environment and sustainability. I currently work as a research engineer at EasyMining, which is an innovation company in the Ragn-Sells Group with technologies for recycling key fertiliser nutrients from waste. During my PhD studies, I worked towards increased understanding of the mechanisms of lubricated tribological contacts. My main topics included grease-lubricated contacts subjected to fretting, as well as a lubricating fuel additive for reduced fuel consumption in combustion engines. I have a broad skillset within material science and characterization, with a specialization in tribological testing and analysis of thin tribofilms. In addition to learning scientific methodology and gaining experience using different types of tribological test methods, sometimes tailor-made for a specific application, I gained experience in project management and how to systematically work towards a goal, both independently and together as a team.
