About Elisa Belmonte

Research Communication Project Manager at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland on outreach projects about women's health. I am currently project manager for 'Debunking the Myths - The Science behind Our Sexual Health', an exper-led sexual health education programme for Irish teenage students. I am a science communicator with a strong background in medical and pharmaceutical biotechnologies. After conducting neuroscience research for my thesis, I transitioned into science communication, working with various organisations in Italy. This experience helped me discover my passion for making complex scientific topics accessible to diverse audiences. To deepen my expertise, I pursued a Master’s in Science and Health Communication at Dublin City University, where I combined my scientific background with creative storytelling. I am particularly interested in research communication, the intersection of art and science, and visual thinking as a tool for engagement. Through different media and formats, I strive to bridge the gap between research and society, fostering curiosity and understanding.
