About Elisa Schulz

I'm a scientist at metaSysX, working with mass spectrometry-based data (GC-MS, LC-MS) from biological samples — including data processing, statistical analysis, visualization (mainly in R), and biological interpretation. I also present results to project partners and customers. Since joining the company in 2016, I’ve contributed to a wide range of projects with a strong focus on industry-relevant and customer-driven research. Beyond my scientific work, I’ve also taken on leadership roles, such as Head of Data Analysis and interim Chief Business Officer — including project and resource coordination, customer communication, and quality assurance. With an academic background in biology and research experience from my PhD and postdoc at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology, I’ve worked on integrated metabolite and transcript profiling in the context of plant development, stress responses, and secondary metabolism. I enjoy working at the intersection of data, biology, and customer interaction — and I’m especially passionate about visualizing and presenting results in ways that make complex information accessible and impactful.
