About Elisabeth Barrows

Elisabeth S. Barrows is a project/program manager in Battelle's New York regional office. Her experience in environmental sciences includes project management, inorganic and organic analytical chemistry, marine and freshwater toxicity testing, and field work. As project/program manager, Ms. Barrows is responsible for maintaining the primary point-of-contact with clients; developing and implementing QA/QC sample objectives and planning documents [work/quality assurance project plans (W/QAPP), sampling plans, etc.]; technical and cost proposal preparation; establishing work breakdown structures and monitoring project/program budgets; coordinating field, analytlaboratory, and data management activities conducted by multiple organizations within Battelle as well as subcontractors. She serves as project/program manager on evaluations of sediment for dredge and disposal operations which involve conduct of chemical analyses of sediment, water, and tissue samples and bioassays, including water-column toxicity tests, benthic acute toxicity tests, and bioaccumulation studies. She participates in projects providing technical support for ocean monitoring programs and sediment characterization studies led by various government environmental agencies as well as private industrial clients.
