About Elisabeth Yorns

My name is Elisabeth Yorns and I graduated from Skidmore College this May with a degree in Environmental Science. I was a dedicated member of the Varsity Skidmore Field Hockey team, which instilled discipline and teamwork into my character. During my undergrad, I pursued projects in Environmental Justice, sustainable solutions, and field-based marine science research. This summer, I’m building on the research I began during my Environmental Studies Senior Capstone, which focused on textile waste as a byproduct of overconsumption. Through project management, critical thinking, and collaboration with both campus departments and external partners, I’m working to strengthen Skidmore’s Exchange Closet. Our goal is to align the initiative more closely with the college’s broader sustainability commitments and promote a circular model of reuse on campus. In the future, I will engage in a mission driven role that pushes me to think of nature-based solutions with the main goal of better human's relationship with our planet.
