About Elise Doyle

Growing up on a farm in central Victoria, I became fascinated with animals at an early age. I have a keen interest in the conservation of not only our animals, but also in the preservation of our natural environments. In 2009 I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Melbourne. I have recently completed a Certificate in Animal Management (Captive Wild Animals) in conjunction with practical work placement at Auckland Zoo, working with a wide range of species.I currently work for Auckland Zoo as a keeper, working with Carnivores, Primates and Animal experiences sections. I have gained a wide and diverse range of experience and skills; feeding and diet preparation, training and conditioning (i.e. weight, health checks and crate), enrichment, education, cleaning, husbandry, camera records, animal records (ZIMS) and safety procedures.I am confident, enthusiastic and enjoy a challenge. I love working in the outdoors, perform all tasks efficiently and have good time management skills. I really enjoy working as part of a team and I am equally capable of working independently. I thrive under pressure and am highly experienced with customer service. Undertaking the Animal Management certificate this past year has provided me with an incredible opportunity to utilize practical days, learning invaluable skills and I am excited to start my career within the zoo industry.
