About Elissa Simpson

With over two years of experience in leading and coaching students in career development and business case competitions, I am a driven and passionate leader who thrives on creating value and impact for the master's community at the University of Amsterdam. As the Chairwoman of the Master Career Club and the Training Coordinator and Head of Recruitment of the Sefa Case Club, I oversee a team of 18+ committee members who organize career and social events for the master's students in the Economics and Business faculty, and I select and train 25 case solvers who represent the UvA in business case competitions globally and at our own edition of ACC. I have just completed a Master of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Strategy, and I am officially Graduating in November of 2023. I have a strong interest in solving complex business problems, working in diverse teams, and leading projects from start to finish. In October of 2023, I have completed a certification in Project Management. I am currently working towards a certification in Agile project management and AI in business. I have gained valuable skills and experience in time management, team motivation, analytical thinking, organization skills, and conflict management from my extracurricular activities and my involvement in the study association Sefa. I have also broadened my horizons and cultural awareness by leaving the United States six years ago, first for solo travel around the world and then to study in Amsterdam. I am a native English speaker, and I am currently working on my Dutch language skills in completing my B1 certification.
