About Elizabeth Berke

Hi everyone! I have spent the last 8 years in Education teaching English abroad in Taiwan and here, in the US, as an Elementary School Teacher. I began my path in Education when I wanted to hone my Chinese speaking skills after 4 years of studying in college. I traveled to Taiwan to do just that and teaching English was a vehicle for my thirst for immersion in the Chinese language and a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. After two years abroad, and several months of a fabulous adventure traveling throughout Southeast Asia, I came back to the States motivated to gain employment and continue building in my career. Despite studying Chinese and Business in college, not Education, teaching became an obvious and seemless transition after my time overseas. Although I never intended on a career in Education, I found a lot of passion in what I did. It is a daunting task teaching a group of children all on different levels, from different cultures, with different home-lives, personalities, needs, and challenges. I took pride in my work-excelling in both the classroom and as a leader in my school and community. And after many years of dilligence to perfecting my craft, I am looking to transition into something new-something with the opportunity of both personal and financial growth. I am grateful to my time in Education for all that it has taught me. How it has taught me to problem solve and to persevere. How I learned the true of meaning of hard work-beyond the paycheck, beyond the clock, to get the job done with fidelity. How I became confident with interpreting data and making data-based decisions to execute change and see results. How it showed me what I am truly looking for in my career-to use my brain and skills to make a difference. I have a passion for doing good in the community, a sharp business mind, and a fierce capacity for leadership. I am an open book and would love the opportunity to connect with you!
