I take a keen interest in internal control systems within financial firms that address the principal-agent problem wherein managers may act in their own interest and benefit from information asymmetry. A prime example is the incentive for firms to overvalue financial assets and understate the risk of off-balance sheet products. I have consistently developed new processes to deal with a wide span of enterprise risks at financial firms, from new opportunities in complex products to sensitive issues such as climate risk. And, while financial landscapes will continue to constantly evolve, a firm’s governance framework should be aligned to emerging risks. I take a proactive approach to identify potential threats and am committed to ensuring the safety and soundness of the financial system. My comprehensive understanding of risk management frameworks, industry best practices, and regulatory developments enables me to provide sensible solutions that facilitate fair markets and protect investors.
