About Elizabeth Chaney

A biology graduate of the University of Delaware, Elizabeth Chaney extended her technical knowledge of flora and fauna into a specific expertise in canines. She partnered with her German Shepherd "Ella" to achieve the highest title in the dog sport of Schutzhund. A certified handler for the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue team, Virginia Task Force 1, Elizabeth trained her canine partners Harpo, Ventoux, and Hugo for national and international deployment to assist in disasters. Together with her live and human remains detection canines, Elizabeth, has been deployed to assist in the aftermath of hurricanes, local building collapses, and the recent mudslides in Washington State. In Elizabeth began her own canine training business. She joyfully "went to the dogs" when she left her "real job" as a marketing representative for a pharmaceutical company to start her own fledgling canine training business. From a single canine training field surrounded by soybeans and corn, her business evolved into the comprehensive pet care facility that is today; serving the Washington DC, Baltimore, and Annapolis metropolitan areas. In 2002 with few resources, clear objectives, hard work, little construction experience, and a great deal of perseverance, Elizabeth successfully served as her own general contractor to build her dream, the square foot facility that offers an array of top quality services for canines and felines. Through her visions and thoughtful planning and design, Perfect Pet Resort opened its doors on March 7, 2003. Perfect Pet Resort has been recognized by the Washingtonian Magazine as one of the best boarding facilities in the Washington DC area. What's Up Magazine in Annapolis, Maryland recognized Perfect Pet Resort as the top Pet Services and Pet Boarding in the Annapolis area multiple times. In addition, Perfect Pet Resort has been featured in several local papers and magazines as well as in The Washington Post and Chesapeake Family's Green Guide.
