About Elizabeth Cook

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I have five degrees in nursing and midwifery, including master’s and doctoral degrees. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Professional Midwife, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Leader, and Registered Nurse. I hold board certification with the American Midwifery Certification Board, the North American Registry of Midwives, and the National Certification Corporation. I am also a fellow with the American College of Nurse Midwives. I am an Assistant Professor with Touro University California, teaching in their master's and doctoral nursing programs. I was the Program Director for one of the nation's busies birth centers, and for a Faculty Midwife Service. As a Program Director of two new services, I grew our team from a budgeted pool of 2.0 FTEs to 14.0 FTEs, opened a satellite clinic, and laid the groundwork for a second satellite clinic. We budgeted 84 births for FY15, and 650 for FY20, representing a 6-year growth curve of 774%. While many facilities struggle to keep their maternity practices financially stable, our net revenue during this timeframe was approximately $24.27M, and net income approximately $10.58MI am also an expert witness specializing in birth, obstetrics, and women's health. I can work with any such case involving a midwife, nurse practitioner, or nurse. I have 12.5 years of clinical experience, and have delivered 2,435 babies. I have taught residents, medical students, nurse practitioner students, midwife students, and nursing students. I have advanced skills including limited OBGYN sonography, tongue tie revisions, electronic fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and cesarean first assisting.
