At Senior Charity Care Foundation, as the President, she established and led teams to provide mobile dental (starting in 2015) and mobile vision services (starting in 2019) She has received numerous awards including: 1990 Iowa Hospital Social Work Director of the Year; 2019 Informed Decision Maker Recipient, Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, University of Utah David Eccles School of Business; 2019 AARP Purpose Prize Fellow; and the 2020 The George H.W. Bush Points of Light Inspiration Honor Roll. From 1985-1992 she was an adjunct professor first at the University of Northern Iowa and then at Buena Vista College teaching social work classes at the Bachelor level and has taught various workshops, presented posters and participated in the 2021 panel, hosted by AARP for the ASA national convention.
