Background
About Elizabeth Fleitz
I am a Professor of English, having earned my PhD in Rhetoric and Writing. I am a scholar, currently pursuing research in women's rhetorics, particularly exploring the ways in which cookbooks and other domestic texts help to construct a community of women as well as describe women's communication practices. My scholarly goal is to "re-map" the role of women in the rhetorical tradition, by uncovering quotidian and popular texts which have been previously considered non-scholarly, and analyzing them for their rhetorical significance. Specialties: women's rhetorics, domestic rhetorics, history of rhetoric, contemporary rhetorical theory, feminist rhetorics, feminist theory, rhetoric and food, women's studies, gender studies
