Background
About Elizabeth Lenkeit Hoke
Elizabeth Hoke is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Oregon. She is dedicated to helping people in need receive mental health services. She is the Clinical Director and supervises interns and trainees at Liberation Institute where they provide therapy for all on a sliding scale. She helped open the Portland location in 2020, more about that in this article: https://montavilla.net/2023/12/13/affordable-community-mental-health-clinic/Having faced addiction from a very early age—and struggling to remain in recovery due to never feeling a true sense of belonging in traditional treatment groups—Elizabeth developed a deep passion for supporting others on their recovery journey. This lived experience led her to help co-create Recovery’s Remedy, a non-judgmental community where people can design, share, and honor their own path to recovery without shame, guilt, or fear of being ostracized for doing things differently. More about that community: http://recoverysremedy.orgElizabeth teaches psychedelic education classes and continuing education workshops at Lewis & Clark College. She also works with Dr. Steve Rosonke at Rainfall Medicine, sitting with patients as they explore their unconscious with a medicine called ketamine. She uses a mix of theoretical tools rooted in somatic psychology and eastern philosophies to empower her clients to believe in themselves and realize their potential to positively impact others.Elizabeth is a mother, artist, and activist who has committed her life to human and environmental advocacy. She comes from a long lineage of strong and complicated Jewish women and is committed to being the best mother she can to her three children so that they grow up to be caring, impactful humans who make the world a better place.
